Most people think of a dating site as providing a service to people looking for a one on one relationship. Recently there has been a huge increase in dating sites for the ‘unconventional’ relationship and swinging falls in to this category.
Swinging doesn’t involved going to the local kids’ playground (you might get yourself arrested if you do!). It is for couples who want to share their sexual experience with other couples. Swinging is becoming increasingly common and is often used as a way to rescue a failing marriage but does this really work?
Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t. I can’t quite decide which the better option is when it comes to a marriage rescue, I am of the opinion that introducing another element into an already fragile relationship is not really a good idea, but it can depend on what the problem is in the first place. It might help to looking into what swinging involves a little more.
In basic terms, swinging is allowing your partner to have sex with someone else, with your consent. There are a couple of ways that this can happen, one is at a party where everyone puts their keys into a bowl and then randomly draws their partner for the evening. While this is a fun way of doing it there is a chance that you won’t feel attracted to your partner (or the other way around). The other option is a couple swing, where two couples get together and have sex, in the same room at the same time.
It can take a special kind of person to be able to handle this, sometimes seeing your husband or wife having sex with someone other than you (and enjoying it) can be soul destroying, in which case it could mean marriage over. Although everyone has a choice when it comes to swinging, a partner might feel that there is no choice if they want to save their marriage and this is when it can caused irreparable damage.
The other thing to consider when thinking about swinging is if your partner falls for the other person, after all sex is often an intimate thing. What do you do if your partner decides they like to have sex with other people more than with you? I am not saying that you shouldn’t try swinging, all I am saying is to give it some thought and establish some ground rules to try and prevent things getting worse within your marriage.
If you do decide that it is right for you, swing safely and swing happy.
